As promised here are some shots of the type of items in the charity shop I'm working at. I finish my placement at the end of September so I still have a fair bit of time to go, but so far dressing windows and mannequins has been really good fun.

After spying this charming little bow tie in the shop I knew I wanted to include it in the window display. I hooked it onto the top of a book and thought it actually looked quite sweet.

I spotted this type writer on it's lonesome in the corner of the shop and thought I'd place it on this very lovely trunk. Chucked on a dapper hat, some hankies and a pair of shoes and thought it gave the men's area a bit more character!

Buttons have always fascinated me, even as a kid I remember finding buttons stored of biscuit tins and trailing through them seeking out all the various types. I brought this jar from the stock room and thought it fitted well amongst some of the other items in the window.
This little case is lovely, I thought it looked pretty sweet combined with all these other little nifty bits such as the mirror, brush and gloves.
This cameo brooch is pretty special. It was first slumped in the window at an unflattering angle so I added a few books and a necklace and thought it looked a lot more aesthetically pleasing.

A further selection of some of the lovely brooches in the shop, a few have been sold since taking these photographs which is a shame - I had my eye on the one in the middle. It had a nice renaissance feel to it.

A couple of items that caught my eye on the shelf. I especially like this beautiful box. If it's still there next week I think I may have to snap it up!
Lastly the classic Singer! As soon as I saw this on the shelf I knew it had to be on the window. It's incredible just how much of a talking point it brings with customers. I can't count the amount of times people have come in and mentioned how they used to have one or how their mother or gran used one.
Hell of a long post this one, sorry if it's potentially broken your computer in the process!

Such beautiful merchandising arrangements. You display things just like I do at my charity shop. Keep up the good work lovely.
This is really cute, I want to wander about this charity shop! I did a bit of visual merchandising at a charity shop a year or two ago, but it was mainly just dressing up mannequins in crazy retro clothes - so much fun :)

I absolutely love the way you've arranged all these items, they look lovely! All of the little bits and pieces are so pretty.
Wish there were charity shops like this near me! I would definitely be in there all the time haha, since I can only justify buying clothes and other items from charity shops these days... :-) All for a good cause!

it ain't so long it's all gravy (there's another old one for you, can you have that). you have done a great job, hopefully the punters are loving it too and snapping things up in all directions. bet it's pleasing when someone buys something that you have styled. do you find people buy much from the windows? most chazza shop windows are pretty naff, i guess that's why you're changing things! get the milk bottle
thanks for the berlin tips too, duly noted
Ooo what treasures, loved looking through your photos. I hope you like my latest outfit post
